NORTHERN CHURCHES CARE
4210 Austin Bluffs Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80918

Northern Churches Care (NCC) was established in 1982 by a group of people who had a vision of working cooperatively with local churches to provide emergency food and financial assistance. North Springs Alliance Church is one of the many churches that contributes resources to this non-profit organization. NCC’s mission is to love our neighbors in Colorado Springs by helping with their emotional, physical, financial, and spiritual needs.
The type of client who comes to NCC is very diverse. Some are young, some are elderly, some have disabilities or health issues, some have children, some do not, some know Christ, but many do not. Regardless of what makes them different, they all have several things in common. They are in great need and have great stress about their future.
If you would like more information about NCC, be sure to visit their Web site (www.northernchurchescare.org). They have several opportunities available to serve and partner with them.
TESTIMONIES
J had lost everything. Gone were the family home, his marriage, his business, his way of providing. Trust had been broken, and he was filled with guilt, fear, and despair. He had great unforgiveness for himself and wondered about God’s forgiveness for the mistakes he had made with his family. He came to NCC for help with his utilities, but he received much more. He was able to get prayer and spiritual direction from the pastor. NCC was able to help with his utilities. He left with more hope, and his outlook was more positive concerning his future. The other problems were not gone, but he had more strength to face them.
“I just wanted you all to know. Thank God for you all. I lived in a neighborhood that a lot of bad things were happening. The last one was that they found a worker from the apartments I lived in dead in the hallway. I was worried about the safety of my daughter and self. The Northern Churches Care helped me pay some of my rent so I could have the deposit in a safer neighborhood. My daughter and I are doing great, I feel that she is safe and I can work with less worry. Thank you and God bless.” LB
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The volunteers who meet with those in need do so with gentleness and compassion. They have a heart for Christ and genuine love for His children. They faithfully show up each week ready to serve. They are the living examples of agape love. They serve and give grace as it is given to them. NCC is richly blessed because of the volunteers.
Pick up Bread/Pastries on Mondays and/or Thursdays: NCC is looking for a volunteer(s) to pick up bread/pastries from COSTCO on Monday and/or Thursday mornings before 9:30am and deliver them to NCC. If interested, contact Jenny (277-7470 ext 125).
Volunteers Needed to Unload Food
With the holiday season quickly approaching, NCC is looking for volunteers to help unload food once per month at our commodities site located at Fellowship Bible Church on N. Nevada Ave. We also need 10-15 volunteers who would be available on an “on-call” basis. We receive commodities (USDA food from Care and Share) as well as food If you have access to a pickup truck that would be an additional blessing. If interested, contact Jenny (277-7470 x125; volunteer@northernchurchescare.org).
If you have additional questions and/or want an application, contact Jenny (277-7470 x125; volunteer@northernchurchescare.org).
